Raducanu advanced to round three in three of the four major tournaments this year.

Britain's Emma Raducanu will not compete in her remaining competitions of the year because of a health issue that has affected her for the last week and a half.

Raducanu, aged 22 had planned to participate in tournaments in Tokyo and Hong Kong but has decided to fly home to rest and recuperate before starting her preparations for 2026.

Her upcoming training will include coach Francisco Roig, as they have decided to continue collaborating in 2026.

The tennis professional required blood pressure checks in her opening round versus Ann Li in Wuhan and retired when behind 6-1 4-1 on a day with extreme humidity.

She needed once more a visit from the doctor at the recent Ningbo Open, where she lost in three sets to Zhu Lin, a Chinese wildcard in the first round.

Her movement was noticeably restricted in the deciding set against Zhu owing to a lower back issue that has been a concern during parts of the season.

Those results signaled a promising season, in which she climbed into the top 30 globally after more than three years in more than three years, finished with a trio of defeats.

She held three match points prior to falling to American player Jessica Pegula in round three in Beijing last month.

Raducanu won 28 matches during 2025 and reached the semi-finals in Washington, but the highlight of her season was at the Miami event in March.

The British number one reached the quarter-finals of the WTA 1000 event, overcoming Emma Navarro, the eighth seed on the way before losing in three sets to fourth-ranked Pegula.

She worked with trainer Mark Petchey from the Miami event through Wimbledon, with Roig assuming the role ahead of the US Open.

The initial agreement with the ex-coach of Rafael Nadal was until the end of the season but the partnership will continue, with a training block pencilled in for the end of the year.

The athlete revealed that the trial session with Roig post-Wimbledon was like a "secret mission" as they tried to keep the meeting secret.

She came very close to beating world number one Aryna Sabalenka at their initial event as a team in Cincinnati in August.

The coach also accompanied Raducanu in New York, where she made the third stage then falling to 2022 Wimbledon champion Elena Rybakina.
