The New England Patriots equaled their best victory streak from the Tom Brady period as they beat division opponents the Jets 27-14 in the NFL

The win bolsters the Patriots lead at the top of the division as they improved to a 9-2 record, with the Jets at the foot after slipping to a 2-8 mark

The visitors had gone in front at Foxborough with quarterback Justin Fields running in a five-yard touchdown to cap the New York's first possession

But the home team fought back in the second period as Henderson scored two seven-yard TDs before the running back grabbed a reception from Drake Maye at the rear of the end zone in the middle of the third period to push the score to 21 to 7

"That was a big time for him rising to the challenge, and it's been fantastic for him to keep gaining experience," the quarterback said of the rookie. "He desires to be great."

Justin Fields connected with John Metchie toward the end of the third quarter to reduce the lead for the visitors but Andy Borregales kicked a two field goals in the final period as the home side closed out the win
